Make sure they are the same if you can’t see them look at the number of stars or dots. Look at the mail server settings boxes for password and port settings they’re the ones you need to delete and reapply. Doing a send and receive manually or waiting on the scheduled send and receive on the client does not update new mail items.

Furthermore, when calendar invites are accepted using the Outlook client, they disappear from All Mail and go into the Trash folder, but when using WebMail, they remain in the Inbox. I have seen this disparity for years across different Outlook client versions and Windows versions. I also posted on Fix Outlook and Office 365 Errors 2025 the Gmail subreddit about a year ago.

We are a relatively small company so instead of purchasing exchange or using hosted exchange, we decided to use GoDaddy for standard pop/imap email accounts to save on the cost. If these methods do not work, then contact the support team of your email provider. So, here are the solutions you solve the problem of how to fix Outlook not opening today the IMAP folder not syncing.
Chosen solution
So my Junk folders do not have that box checked, but the Inbox doesn't have a box to be be checked - their behavior is the same they are both not syncing, until I manually click on them to force the sync. I have half dozen mail accounts a few microsoft a gamil and some other ones and there is no difference they are all acting the same. These a general steps to check your IMAP settings in any email application. With the help of this, you can also ensure that the server settings are properly configured or not. If you can take a look at your mail server settings specifically the IMAP and SMTP. Make a note of the values and delete an overwrite them also check your passwords for both SMTP and IMAP.
My accounts in Mail app stopped to sync post update
I am using TB for just three weeks now and I have issues daily Outlook Not Sending or Receiving Email when sending mail with no attachments the outgoing mail server will time out. Since the sync issue is universal it appears to be a global issue. Perhaps something in TB needs to be tweaked. I have no firewall monitors running during the day that would interfere just the vpn. With that said - the "delayed syncing" issue that I am experiencing is happening on Inbox as well as Junk folders.

It will synchronize deleted items if I delete an item from my phone, but it just wont receive new ones. IMAP accounts should update automatically on send/receive. Otherwise why even have the ability to auto-sync? If I need to click on each folder to force the sync/download from server then auto sync serves no purpose. When you are accessing Gmail via the web application everything is hosted on Google's cloud servers.
- Below are some causes that contribute to the problem.
- Their webmail works fine, and when this account is added to the Windows Mail app, everything works perfectly.
- I have an email problem that has been plaguing me for some time now and I have so far been unable to find a resolution.
- He brings a unique perspective gained from nearly a decade of active participation in various IT forums, blogs, and social media.
- I’ve never heard of setting a path before for email, so apologies if this is a simple solution to those who come across this in the future.
- But if I leave my email open with the inbox selected, it will not populate any new mail items.
Hence, the trashing of messages is registering on Gmail. It's just that the contents seem completely disconnected from what I see using webmail. All messages that were trashed in Outlook still appear in All Mail when accessed using webmail, even days later. From what I’m reading, this doesn’t actually appear to be an issue with receiving email, it’s an Outlook screen refresh issue, or possibly (although less likely) an issue with notification settings. If you can go to another folder then right back to Inbox and suddenly see 100 new messages, they were there all along, they didn’t just magically appear in that second it took to switch back and forth. Try attacking it from that angle and see what you find.
IMAP folder sync issue in the new Outlook (moved emails not syncing to webmail)
Looks like at this point there still is not a fix? I am stumped as it the rest of our team. Paying $6 per month vs our current $1.50 per month is a pretty big increase on a yearly basis. We wouldn’t use many of the features included in office 365 to warrant paying the additional cost. Varatex - Outlook in Safe mode did not seem to help.
Outlook not syncing IMAP emails
We only have a handful of people who use the their email across multiple devices at the corporate office. Just a question - why not look at office 365? Mailbox only support is like $6 a month or less, and it is proper exchange, enabling better syncing etc. You should look at your Outlook desktop client settings to review the default synchronization schedule and tweak anything you can to get it to poll Google's IMAP servers more frequently. I access the IMAP servers from 3 different machines, and they all see the changes from each other. The problem is that the some changes are not reflected in the Gmail web app.
